Deep down we all hate computers. They freeze up, jam, get hit with spam and viruses and we have absolutely no idea what to do about it. Combine that with the humid and salty air that Bali throws up to attack our hard drives and USB connections and it is arecipe for stress.
There is, however, a small group of specialists out there who do understand the ins, outs and intricacies of these most powerful of machines and can help: the computer technicians. Goesde is one such man. He learned all about the inner workings of a computer the best way: on the job! He studied everything about computers by taking them apart in the workshop and being tutored in hardware, software, viruses, installations, settings, and doing memory recoveries from computers that had gone into total meltdown. In the colder climes it is possible to get away without her hair removal services for most of the year but here in bikini country her time is in high demand.
Only the more hirsute of the male sex will share your pain, but they are out there and she has no problem massaging their vanity too, waxing backs, chests and even ‘rig work’ - as that most beautiful of euphemisms goes - in all those important little places.
Mufi has been doing this for many years and works from the salon ‘La Beaute’ in Kerobokan, which she owns with her business partner Budi. They offer the full range of treatments from massage to manicures to facials but it is definitely the pain of the modern day torturer that stirs up the most notoriety. These days when you call an airline office it is seldom that you can get to speak to a real live human for a straight answer. They really want to encourage you to use the websites to save them money on staff and overheads. So it’s nice to have a travel agent who will pick up the phone or answer a text when you need it.
